I am searching for any information here or elsewhere online about the geology around Claremont, Queensland. If anyone has any tips, much appreciated.

I just wanted to post some PDF's I found very interesting and useful about the Claremont area. They took a lot to find. I don't have a link to them. Maybe one of the admins can steer me in the right direction

Does anyone know the grid references used in the general permission maps for Claremont? No idea how one is supposed to use a GPS with the references they use or even how to relate it to a proper map or Google Earth. I am guessing they use the same type of mapping for all the general permission areas.

A huge amount of data is available at minesonlinemaps It can be slow to load so be patient. A bit complicated to learn how to use it. Zoom in first before you start opening layers. There is a layer for general permission areas. If you are familiar with google earth, similar process. Just tick the options you want to view in the menu on the left. Note, some of the icons in the menu have a small arrow under them indicating a drop down menu. You have to look close. You can also select surface geology. Then search and intersect tab. Then point identify option. Then when you click on the zone you want, you get all the details down the bottom. Bit hard to explain in brief.

Does anyone familiar with Clermont, Qld, know of any areas where the Permian conglomerate has been exposed and weathered? I am trying to track down some areas to pan alluvial out there. I am used to panning where there is no natural water so that isn't an issue.
