Have my 12" saw up and running, so i decided to start having a look in some of the thunder eggs i picked up at auction. Sliced a few that were damaged but had colour and sliced a couple in two. Was happy with all of them so far and still have more to go. These are the halves: This one had a nice little smokey pocket: These are the slices:

G'day Ian that saw does a good job mate also it looks like most of the geodes and thunder egg's are from Mt Hay

Cheers Harry. The saw has been doing a great job, but may have to change the pulleys round a little to get the blade a little faster. Also need to track down some brass nuts for the vice, apparently Nowra does not use brass nuts for anything so nobody has any stock....
Interesting you sat Mt Hay, i was told they looked like Agate creek and Mt hay. Either way they are QLD stock it seems.

G'day mate I think you will find that all the geodes and thunder egg encased in rhyolite are from Mt Hay the others are agate creek Cheers
