I've been chasing coins with a beep stick for a few years, now that I'm in Gippsland and seeing the history of the area, I thought I might have a go finding some colour, seeing as most of my other hobbies and interests take me out in the bush.
I have an Xterra 705 with the dual coils, but I've never touched on prospecting mode. Not sure how it will go, one way to find out I guess.
There's a lot of creeks around home, I'll have to research the no-go areas. Very keen to have a look around, get my hands dirty, and build up the knowledge bank.
Golddiggerart's youtube videos brought me here.

Thanks guys,
I can't believe this weather. suns out, then the rain comes through, suns out again. This time last year I think we'd already seen some days in the mid 30's. Next week I'll be complaining about the heat.
Still reading up.

I metal detected part of Tanjil west branch back in the 1980s I did quite well at the time enough to keep up the installments on my house and put food on the table. At the time I payed $350 for the detector. price of gold then was fluctuating around $800 oz. The good part is, there isn't any rubbish like nails or beer bottle tops to annoy you. and you don't have to dig deep Flying Scott

Thanks for the reply Flying Scott.
I went out for a quick swing today and all I've dug up is hot rocks and a .22 bullet.
