Ventured out to Oallen today and decided to try an area that normally I wouldn't. Guess what, I'll be trying it again. Apart from the gold, got a couple of perfectly formed quartz crystals, in millions of years of going to Oallen, never seen one before. The gold still isn't like it was a few years ago but today was my best for a long time, clean it up tomorrow and will be surprised if it is under a gram. Met up with a couple of new (well new to me anyway) prospectors, Gordon and Andrew, was a pleasure to chat with them. Didn't think I'd ever see another Goldwell Vortex sluice, setup right beside me was another one, Gordon was running a smaller model and having some very good results. Great to see another one working. Hope to get back out there in a few weeks time, will be heading for the same spot, hoping for a similar result.

Good to hear you are still getting a bit at Oallen Jeff. With all the water thats been flushing down the river in recent months there's a chance of finding all sorts of things I suppose.

Glad to hear you had a good day out Jeff. The quartz crystals are interesting. We found some nice quartz on our first few trips out there, but have not seen much since.

Had my first trip to Oallen Ford this past weekend for just a day trip. Hoping to get back down there in a week or so and I've got a lead on some good spots to check out. Hope to meet you guys out there, I'll be the one with an American accent if you see me.
