I was lucky enough to get the lot for $320, but there will be a bit of money into getting them back up and running. It suits me really well as i do not have the money for new equipment and find by pulling them apart to clean and fix i gain a bit more understanding on how it all works. Iam over the moon Harry, i plan to put two 8" expanded drums in the robilt box so i can use that for fine sanding/pre-polish, the other grinder i will have 8" 300 and 600 hard wheels and on my current grinder will have 6" 100 and 200. With the polishing pads on the side i will finally be able to grind a cab from start to finish at home . But that will have to wait till i can start getting the garage set up. In the mean time i will focus on getting the flat lap running so i can get my agates polished

Just a matter of interest Ian when using your flat lap be sure to stick some sinkers/lead to your stone , this will help with the polishing as I find if you haven't got the stone balanced or the stone has a heavier side on it only the heavy part of the stone gets polished so with the lead you get an even polish on the stone providing its balanced with the lead hope this helps mate cheers Harry

Cheers Harry, i have been looking at making some lead weights to suit slabs by just melting some lead into small tins, but the agates i want to start on are a decent size so i am hoping they will be heavy enough on their own. For the smaller pieces was hoping to get away using the large fishing sinkers, though i may have to look at something similar to the slabs. Iam guessing it will take a little playing to get it right.
