Native Dog Creek in Essington State Park

Finally got out to Native Dog Creek and gave the fossicking for gold a go. I found some bedrock, but only got 2 flakes out of half a day's work. So there is gold there, but I didn't find the right spot. Still a beautiful area even though the loggers are cutting down trees right now and parts of the park are closed to the public. It was somewhat a remote location. Thanks to diggerkus for letting me know of this place. I'll have to give it a go another time and hopefully find a better spot. 




I found the bedrock!



I stayed out there past 7pm, but with dark approaching I made my way back to the paved road and captured the sunset. 


Not far down the road I saw a heard of 10 kangaroos where were as surprised to see me as I was them. I love the Australian outback! You never know what you might see.

Looks like a beautiful spot to spend some time even if the gold was a bit sparse.

I've seen more gold come out of this area, I just wasn't pulling from the right spot. There are closed areas to the public due to logging going on, so I couldn't get to where I think the good gold is. I'll make another trip out sometime, it's very remote.
