Spent the past few days out gold prospecting in the Australian outback. On the day I camped out in my car the night before above the river so I could get up with the sun and work this spot at Coles Bridge. I put in 14 hours and my body is sore to show for it, but I did get some nice gold and got to use my upgraded river sluice. I took out a wooden bar at the mouth of the sluice and put down ribbed matting. It worked so well that a lot of gold was captured right there on the matting and I was able to use my sniffer bottle to extract it right there in the river. The heat was hellish around 97 degrees Fahrenheit but the scenery and sounds of nature you can see in the video recharges my soul. Third to last imagine is the bedrock I worked. Woke with the sun early in the morning. Here it is just coming up from behind the hill and trees. The Turon river slowly making it way down to the sea. My peaceful and relaxing view while panning for gold. A twisted dead old knotted tree was there to greet me. My rest spot up under the pine trees on the banks of the river. Full of sun now, but it became shaded as the sun reached overhead during the hotter part of the day. My river sluice in the Turon river. A video of my river sluice in action catching the gold. This is the bedrock hole I worked the whole day. It was tough work in the heat of the summer. Spotted this gold in my matting at the mouth of my sluice! It's working.

After 2 days on the Turon and a half day at Native Dog Creek, this is my clean up. Doesn't look like much, but it's more gold total than I had before because of the bigger pieces I've been getting. Mostly out of the Coles Bridge area. Quite happy with the results and the new improved river sluice allows me to run a lot more dirt while out in the field.
