What are you after, ready made maps or something to do some mapping yourself? Also what are you wanting to use it on, phone, tablet, computer or GPS?

What are you after, ready made maps or something to do some mapping yourself? Also what are you wanting to use it on, phone, tablet, computer or GPS? I'm after something i can download on my iphone and maybe my pc i'm looking for something with the best detail etc . Done a bit of research, but still not sure what to get. Hema or ozi explorer ? Any help would be great.

I don't have a map like the one you're looking for on the iPhone. But I do have on my PC Google Earth and from there I can download KML and KMZ maps to overlay on top of Google Earth. I know Google Earth has an iPhone app, but haven't tried to use the KML or KMZ maps on that. Australian Mining Maps - www.australianminesatlas.gov.au/mapping/downloads.html

For my Ipad and Iphone i use memory map. I believe when i first got it you get 100k map free and free trials of the 25k map which i ended up purchasing. It is worth a look.

Yep - MemoryMap used the Hema data when I downloaded it. I am yet to get into serious off the beaten path exploration and have been happy with the free 100k scale so far.
