Local council has closed down the Eldorado Caravan Park because they have told them that their toilet block is not up to standard. It would take over $80,000 to fix it and Dough from the Park has not got that type of money. So the council has closed them down. They have until June this year to clear everything out, including the permanent caravan sites. This will mean then that the local pub, general store will not survive. and Eldorado will then become a ghost town. They were informed in December of the council decision. nugget893

I have just spoken to Dough from the park. And he has informed me that "They" are closing down the park, not the council. The park is not liable any longer to run. And to get it up to full scratch to sell it, it would cost a lot of money. The park has been up for sale now for the last 6 years. They have had people look at buying it, until they see the books and see it is not a money making concern. Even with the improvement it still not liable to run it. Dough was saying that the local store and pub has closed down a few time over the past few years because of lack of business. But someone comes along each time and reopens it. So it is not the council that has closed the park, it is the owners. nugget893
