Just wondering if anyone has had any success high banking old timers workings along creeks/rivers ? I know our means of riffles/ miners moss is a lot more advanced then the some what rustic sluices they would have used.

The old-timers were pretty thourough - I get the feeling that all I am doing when highbanking is running the old-timers workings. The success comes from running the volume and cleaning the bottom more than they did ...

Lots of people have huge success running the old tailing's mate and you'll never know unless you give it a go.

Yes that's true , might run 10-20 buckets , do a clean up and see what is to offer , it blows my mind how much effort and man hours went into some of these old timers diggings, spot I'm working at the moment , they dug to bedrock up to 50 metres from the creek for at least 10klm , but I suppose they were getting a lot more color then we could ever hope for .
