Hi, I live near the base of Mt Disapointment in Vic and tend to concentrate on my local area. I'm new to prospecting so I haven't got fantasitc stories to tell. YET!
For me it's great just getting out there and enjoying our beautiful country.

Welcome to the forum.
I think you are right the best part of our hobby is just being able to get outside and away from it all for a little while, as well as being able to meet like minded people to enjoy the camp fire with.
Don't worry about the fantastic stories, its just as good to hear your getting out there and having a go.

I started prospecting 45 years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. Sadly I can no longer get close enough to a creek or river to get a shovel wet, good luck to all you guys 'n girls out there on the river bank Flying Scott.

Thanks guys. I have to say that I'm loving it so far. Prospecting is taking me to some very beautiful places. I find it incredible how much work was done back in the day in some of the old gold rush areas.
I'm still very much in the early research stage. As an engineer of some 30+ years experience, I tend to spend a bit time coming up with a good plan.
