Has anyone knowledge or experience around the Nymboida River and its tributaries (west of Dorrigo, NSW)? The section I'm interested in is downstream from the southern point of Muldiva State Forest to the junction of Harness Cask Rd and Tyringham Rd.
The river was formerly known as "Coutt's Water" and "The Harness Cask".
I've been researching: - Trove: for reports and local history. - NSW Dept Primary Industry: Mines data and metallaogenic maps. - Fossicking, historical and tourist websites: hints and leads.
So far, while there were some gold and antimony mines, there is no specific reports of gold in the River's catchment. The local mines were reef mines. So, is this a reef area and gold is most likely elluvial in nature?

Looks like a beautiful part of the world. I wish you luck.
I'd love to try never Never river, just north of Crystal creeks on the other side of Dorigo. It's on the bucket list.

Hi. I have had good gold from the Little Nymboida right up to where it meets the Nymboida. Also some good colour from the Mann river downstream from where the Nymboida runs into it. I haven't triedvthe Nymboida itself but it is a promising prospect.
