mate did you find that the big stones are easier to work with ( shape and facet ) one design I'd like to try is "Balanced oval brilliant" I think it would work well with a large cutter thanks for sharing Harry

The facets are much easier to see on larger stones, but take a lot longer to cut and polish. I chose this cut because the stone had some gas bubbles and a few small veils, i was hoping for a nice looking cut that would let you see in the stone slightly and think it ended up working well.
Personally i think i will keep to the smaller cuts until i get some new laps. Dopping a piece of smokey quartz at the moment have not decided on a cut yet.
