Cheers guys.
There was not enough left on the crown to cut away Harry, so when i got two meetpoints on the top middle of length of the crown to meet in the centre, they over cut the points off about three other meets. To try and fix this i cut back a lot of the girdle, but still ended up with the same problem. I realise now i should have tried to steepen the main a little. But iam left with a very thin girdle and an oversized table as the main problems, which gives a bit of a fisheye effect on a few angles. Has been a good learning process though.

That's beautiful Ian. The smokey looks stunning in that cut. What a result from a crystal. Well done !

Looks great Ian. Would love to see the colours with a light shining through it.
What do you use to stick your stones onto the dop stick? I get asked for recommendations at work from time to time.
Cheers Ric

I use epoxy myself and was lucky enough to get some Tite-On, which was i believe the facetors epoxy of choice until it went out of production. I still have a little left though i think its on its way out now. I also use Dextone steel filled heavy duty epoxy, which seems to be the new alternative to Tite-On.
The old school way would be to use black dopping wax. Its pros and cons seem to be the same, in that it can be heated to adjust the stone.

Starting with the large piece of stone and slabbing it to find a nice piece to cut then grinding it down to polish stage is very time consuming Ian but very rewarding in the end with the polished gem thanks for the share
