Hi All Part 1 My wife and i have been working reedy crk eldorado vic for the past 22yrs. The first 10yrs we spent 3months every spring on reedy crk as we were on the road then in that time we found alot of gold mostley fine some chipy and the biggest piece was 0.1grm on a few accassions. Our son has worked reedy crk for 20yrs he also has found many many oz's of gold mostly fine some chipy and the odd 0.1grm piece. My late dad and my mum also worked reedy crk for over 30yrs every spring and summer on there way to and from wa gold fields for the winter. They found many oz's of gold numbering into at least 3 digits. Dad got myself my wife and son hooked on gold and i thank him for that ( bloody gold fever). Dad never found what you would call a nugget in reedy crk 99.9% fine and chipy gold. When dad got on to a run of gold he would stay there on it no matter how long or deep it would go some times he would be in the same hole for 3 weeks 6 days a week. Dad found many pieces of amalg in his sluice box over the years one piece i remember had 2.3grms gold in it after he retorted it. cheers lonewolf.

Hi All PART 2 A old timer friend of my late dad and the family (90 yrs old sorry albert) has worked reedy crk eldorado since the early 1960's and still does a bit in the creek now. He also has found many many oz's of gold in his time again mostly fine and chipy and the odd 0.1grm piece. We all have viewed a video the border mail in albury put up on there site of the so called nugget 3grms out of reedy crk. The lady who says she found it in a pan is holding the nugget between two fingers and it is reef gold not water worn. In the wangaratta chronicle on the 17th july there is a photo of the same lady with a pan a lot of sand and what looks like 2 nuggets in it but no black sands or tin visible. As any body who has worked reedy crk would no no black sand or tin means very little gold most times. A short note to any newbies going to reedy crk eldorado for gold if you get a chance to talk to any old hands who have worked the crk for years listen to them. Do not listen to people who try to get the tourist's in to eldorado the town is going backwards as of the end of june eldorado caravan park closed which means very few tourist's. There is still reasonable fine gold in reedy crk if you want to do the hard yards. cheers lonewolf.

Wow, they are pretty good sized bits. Many times I've seen gold swept from the bed rock under 3 feet of gravel along this creek, but never any as big as these.

Good score. If I could find one of them every time I went out I'd be happy camper.
