I accidentally deleted this thread, but was able to go back & retrieve it. It was originally posted by "cronicbadger". Basically, NSW Western Lands area leaseholders will be given the option to purchase the Crown Land they occupy and convert it to Freehold. It's not all bad, and some of it is probably quite sensible. But it may have an impact on future fossicking - such as less possibility of new public reserves (for fossicking and other uses), and even less right-of-access.
