Prospecting is like fishing. Doing it is the best part. Finding a keeper..is a bonus

Hi all, Been tied up with work for the last 12 months and have done nothing else. I'm back at it now. I have gone back to the O'allen Ford over the last month or so. The Shoalhaven river is as low as I've see it in 28 years. Last time was during the drought in 1990/2000's I was at O'allen on Saturday. Not a soul in sight all day. Thought I would throw the 6" Nugget Finder on the 4500 to see if I could score a picker or two. Swung the coil for about 6 hours and dug up about 30 targets. Not what I was looking for though. Numerous 22 projectiles, shotgun pellets, fishing sinkers, grease nipple, 15" tent peg and a steel cap from a boot(nearly burst my ear drums). Had a ball and loved every minute of it . At least I know that the detector is still working..lol. Going to dig out the highbanker and bring it back to life... Yes I know, I know... Russ Attachments:

Yep the water there sure is low, I have seen it when the flowing part of the river was about 1 foot wide where it flowed through the rocks to the right of the picture. It looks like a fair bit of work has been done on the shale rocks where someone has split them to get at the fine gold in between them. Rowdy
