I've decided to get back into wet water prospecting on top of my metal detecting activities. And have now purchase a new 2.5hp, 4 stroke engine with 1" inlet/outlet for only $209 on Ebay. There are a lot of creeks and dams in my region that have not been touched for years. Specially after heavy rains. But there is only 2 problems stopping me at the moment from this to happen. 1st, we do have to wait for rain to get the creeks running and dams full again. And 2nd, wait until this bloody Cover-19 virus to p!ss off to allow me to get back out again and prospect. But in the meantime "COME ON RAIN" & Bugger off Virus. nugget893

For a 1" pump it's pretty heavy at 13kg so hopefully it's got a bit of metal where it counts. Also nothing about how noisy it is but some of the chinese engines these days are remarkably quiet. 200 ltrs a minute should be plenty for what your going to use it for so hopefully you should get good service out of it. The quietest pump I ever saw was being used by Willo up at Tuena about 13 or 14 years ago. It was a chinese 2 stroke and from about 10 metres away you could barely hear it. Rowdy

I can remember that. I think that was the time when I side swiped the power box with my caravan and put out all the power to the caravan park. OOPPSS nugget893

Has your new pump arrived yet Bill? Yer mate. I had it running in the backyard. It's got a lot of grunt. Now just have to wait until the restrictions are lifted to go High Banking. As long as the water is still around that is. nugget893
