Hi All, Over 60 and been at home since the start of the Coronavirus. Looking to enjoy the outdoors again soon and I think I'll love prospecting. A little excited about something new. Living in the Hunter Valley I've seen the Copeland mine site. Travelled around a little and have seen the Walkaringa site in Sa. Lived in Yunta for a while. Delivered fuel and mail North and South of the highway. Also walked the mined East of Roebourne in WA along with Yampire gorge and Witternoon. Yes both not gold but I can appreciate how harsh the Australian bush can get. For me I hope to do some enjoyable panning (once I get some gear) in between Dungog and Stroud as I seen a spot mentioned half way between those towns. I already have a NSW and Queensland prospecting permit, so keeping it legal is a good thing. We plan a trip up Queensland before summer inland to some friends at Chinamans Gully. So in an already full life I hope to put aside five week ends over then next year for prospecting in the Bush. I have always wanted to give panning a go.

G'Day monty, NAHMINT/ Glenno here from Vancouver Island British Columbia Canada... Island is about 300 miles long and 70 miles wide. mostly big trees ,lakes, rivers and as you get to the far west side, rain forests........I have been panning since 1979 out west and panned back east in Quebec as a kid..... Trick is,enjoy yourself ,don't take too many unnecessary chances and have fun.........I'm 74 and have probably spent close to $100 in expenses for every $2 in gold recovered.....BUT one day, will hit it BIG !!!! Cheers
