In May, I visited Nundle State Forest. There had been recent logging both sides of Cemetary Road from the junction with Forest Way. Even the tin shack on the other side of the junction of Burrows and Nuggety creeks was gone! The North through to East slopes of Harden's hill appeared to have been sculpted into a smoother gradient. The area was an unrecognisable moonscape. I didn't do any fossicking since I was only passing through, but the few minutes I was there were an eye opener.
Hopefully a few good floods will clear the debris from the creeks and they can be panned once more.
