I am heading down to Daylesford soon ans was wondering if it is good for sluicing/ panning. Havent done any Victorian digging as of yet. Wife and I are heading to Melbourne, fly in and then head on up to Daylesford for 2 days, I got one whole day to myself chasing the yellow. Sailors creek seems to be the creek to hit but in saying this, every man and his dog probably has also had the same idea. I am packing a EZ Sluice with me. Or does any one else that may be in that area would like to meet up for a hunt. Doing some homework on the area just need to know where and where not to dig Brad

Hi Aushunter, Sailors Creek is one of the main creeks running through the area and should contain gold. Also try some of the offshoot creeks running into Sailors Creek. Try and get up into the back waters where most people wouldn't go. I've only detected there in the pines and found nice gold amongst the trees.
