Hey all, I’ve been planning on and off for over 10 years but have recently purchased a detector and am keen to get out and have a swing!
I’m from batemans bay nsw and the obvious local choice for me is Mogo area..
I’ve been out a few times detecting with no success..
Would anyone recommend any spots I could check out?
Thanks in advance guys and gals

Hi noxandpan85 and welcome to the site. I'm also a detectorist/panner but I live in Victoria. Don't know anything about Mogo area. The best advice I could give you is to do your research of the area through books, internet and the local historical society of the area that you are planning to go too. One thing I did notice about Mogo is it is a timber harvesting area. If it is anything like some areas of the Victorian Goldfields, Creswick being one area. The tree plantation areas were once an old goldfield. Try in those areas of Mogo to see if you can get access. In Creswick a stack of gold was found in and around the plantation area with a detector. Some of our NSW members may also come on board to help you out. I hope this may help you in your quest. Nugget893
